Mogul steam locomotive

The B&M Railroad owned a large number of 2-6-0 or Mogul steam locomotives, such as No. 1364 shown above.  These engines were used to pull both passenger and freight trains on the many branch lines over which the railroad operated.  No. 1364 was built by Manchester Locomotive Works in Manchester, N.H. in May 1903 as the builder's construction number 28226.  Originally numbered 646, it was renumbered 1364 in 1911.  Engines of this type were known as the B-15 class by the B&M.  No. 1364 was cut up for scrap in December 1948.  The Society's Archives contains a large number of photographs such as this showing locomotives, trains, stations, etc.
