"TSONGAS FOR PRESIDENT PAPERS"

Scope and Content

The "Tsongas for President Papers" consist of materials generated by the “Tsongas for President Committee 1991-1992”.  This Committee was formed in an effort to win for Senator Paul E. Tsongas the Democratic Party's presidential nomination for the 1992 Election for President of the United States.  The materials were generated by the activities of the “Tsongas for President Committee” and reflect how this campaign for national office was conducted.  The collection consists of fundraising efforts, audio and videotapes productions, books, brochures, campaign advertisements, congressional voting records, delegate lists, schedules and events, information on opponents, issue and policy materials, press clippings, speeches, and correspondence.  The correspondence falls into several categories that includes fundraising, press releases, administrators and staff files, and letters of encouragement and support from the general public.

The collection is arranged in the order in which it was accessioned and consists of 88 Blue/Gray “acid free” corrugated storage boxes totally 132 linear feet.  The collection does not appear to contain the “Tsongas for President Committee” financial records.
