FATHER JOHN'S MEDICINE COMPANY RECORDS

Lowell apothecary, Carleton and Hovey, in 1860s began marketing a cough medicine developed by a local Catholic priest Father John O'Brien.  This medicine became so popular that the apothecary reorganized as the Father John's Medicine Company.  In the early 1980s the company was sold and moved it's manufacturing plant to Cody, Wyoming.
